I’ll get it startered

Job 1: Add a Film Logo

Job 2: Discuss how many fighters you want for the base game

Job 1: Toho
1692707905140.jpeg

The Logo behind the Godzilla franchise, this logo would be a weird, yet fun choice for a fighter. Having Shine abilities and nods to its own films, From a quake, to samurai swords to lasers to even having Godzilla himself show up, This logo has potential to be a unique fighter

Job 2: I was thinking around 35 fighters in the base roaster sounds like a good balance.

Job 1: Polar Bear (Nelvana)
images (29) (14).jpeg

You would play as the polar bear itself.

Since these guys can get huge and pretty dangerous, I think it would be a strong tanky brute.
(As well having references to franchises it owns)

1. Shush Lady (Gracie Films)

Seen at the end of every The Simpsons episode (plus The Critic to a lesser extent), this logo is iconic due to it's shushing lady and it's multiple variations seen on many episodes of our favorite yellow-skinned family. Her moveset might contain attacks referencing shushing, the logo's variants, and of course, references to the Simpsons itself.

Job 1

I did have a few logo characters in mind but I’m sticking with the idea of a film logo character so…

Luxo Jr (Pixar)

IMG_0332.jpeg

You can’t have a game honoring production company logos without him! One of the most iconic characters affiliated with film logos for sure. His moveset can reference the Pixar short films and such.

Plus, I love oddball fighters.

Job 2

35 sounds about right to me.

I’m hoping we get jobs dedicated to tv logos, VHS company logos and more.

Also, we should save characters who did not debut as a logo-exclusive character as DLC such as Pikachu, Fred Flintstone, etc.

I went with the big names that should be on the roster. Surprised the DreamWorks Fisher Boy and Luxo Jr weren’t on the roster already.

Also, a few questions about the thread for BowserKing BowserKing
  • I’m assuming this is a traditional fighter as opposed to a platform fighter, is that correct? Just so I know how to plan moveset templates and movesets.
  • Will there be any assist fighters for this game considering how I think some logos can work well as assists or is it just fighters?
  • Will there be any jobs pertaining to extra side modes and such outside of the fighting game itself? I have a few ideas for some extra goodies for the game being a production company/VHS/opening and closing logo nerd.

I considered this to be a platform fighter, particularly with some planned additions.
Assists will be in the game and the other jobs, sound great too.

While we’re waiting for the votes

Job 3: Make a moveset for Leo the Lion.
Given this logo is so iconic, he represents vanity plates in the trope pantheon, I had to include him first.
So what moves would work for him?

We should probably come up with a moveset template first and how movesets should work but...

In terms of how Leo should work, I feel given Leo was one of the 3 starter characters like the Torch Lady and Tristar Pegasus, Leo would be a beginner's character as I feel quadrupedal characters will be a common archetype of fighters in this game as animals are common in production company logos.

Leo would be a middleweight (towards the heavier side) who has brute force due to being a lion. A lot of his attacks are themed after lion behavior as well as around roaring. He excels at offense but lacks defense. Thus, this makes him a glass cannon. I do feel his moveset can have things themed around general movie equipment like film cameras, backdrops, etc. due to MGM being one of the most prestigious film studios in the world. Throw in some references to musicals because of MGM's long history of making musicals, too. I even feel one move should have the MGM Kids Lion Cub in it assisting Leo to represent the more obscurer kids logo.

As I feel for all movesets, references to the filmography of the company in that logo character's moveset should be limited or be judged as a case-by-case thing as I feel the movesets in the game should be focused on fun, creative ideas from our imaginations as well as referencing the various variants of that character's logo and such.

One idea I have is that Super Attacks can be like the Final Smashes in SSBU and be cinematic finishes based on character's said logo and such. It makes it feel like you're watching a logo right in the middle of the fight!

One idea I have for Leo is a Sonic Roar attack, which makes sense cause you can hear a lion roar from 5 miles away. That would be a neutral special.

Another thing is logo variants and variations, that would give said logos alternate costumes, while referencing memorable variations.

One variation is Green coloured Leo (referencing both Vampire and Crocodile Hunter versions).

Owen23, I still need your vote, so I’ll reveal our newcomer

Update: I’ll give it a few more hours

Here are the votes
Nelvana: 0
Bad Robot: 1
Shush Lady: 4
Toho: 5
Dreamworks: 13
Luxo Jr: 14

Luxo Jr is are fourth newcomer

Job 4: How many logo stages should there be

Also here are some specials for Leo

Neutral Special: Mighty Roar: the signature sound effect. That roar deals 20% damage.

Side Special: Lion Cubs. Representing MGM Jr, those cubs pounce on opponents, dealing 10% damage per cub.

Up Special: Ribbon Strike. The ribbons that are part of the logo grapple those opponents, dealing 15% damage.

Down Special: Mask surprise. The mask part of the logo rams right into the opponent, dealing 25% damage.

Finishing Logo move: Collision Course. The Crocodile from Crocodile Hunter, Collision Course emerges and bites the opponents, before send8ng them in a death roll. Ultimately deals 50% damage.

Taunts: Up taunt is Leo turning his head and roaring at the audience. Side Taunt is Jerry roaring nearby, surprising Leo. Down Taunt is Leo seeing a Ball of Yawn and swatting it once.

Also I think 35 logos would work.

I feel like for stages...42-ish maybe? We should have a stage for each fighter's company as well as some stages based on production company logos that would not work well as a fighter or assist per se. In order to make this the ultimate celebration of production company logos, we should try to squeeze in extra stages if possible.

I can see that work for Luxo Jr and certain others logos if they get in, but we will see

Voting is still on the table, so get your votes in folks.

The stage cameos described are being added, but I will allow a few more cameos as time goes by.

Also now here is Job 6: Add a cartoon logo (the job that was delayed for a day)

Job 6: United Plankton Pictures

The logo featured in SpongeBob, this logo would be a unique choice, where you control a Plankton and several others in a combination of Olimar and Ice Climbers style for this logo

Job #6: DIC Entertainment

Mostly known for being on such shows as The Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog, Inspector Gadget, and more. This logo's moveset will contain probably the logo throwing the dot in it's I like a ball, summoning the Kid in Bed to assist him, and of course, references to the shows DIC made.

The classic creepy character from the logo seen at the end of Rugrats, Ahh! Real Monsters, etc. We would have to be creative with the moveset so something themed around creepiness or the various versions of the logo. Plus, maybe references to the shows but I don’t know.

Ok, since no one else voted, how sad, I have chosen 42 stages for this fight.
The Cartoon logos will still be available for a few more hours

Ok here are the submissions
United Plankton Pictures (mine)
South Park Digital Studios (nirvanafan)
DIC (Owen23)
Splaat (Altered Beast)
Frederator Robot (FazDude)

Vote for your top 3, where your submission is below first
1.Splaat
2.United Plankton Pictures
3.Frederator Robot

While voting is available
Job 7: Add a stage logo (basically logos based of a place).
My submission: RKO Radio Pictures

The logo behind King Kongs debut, but more well known for appearing in a scene in Rocky Horror Picture Show. The tower features sound waves as it’s gimmick, while logos can climb the tower.

We should save the South Park Digital Studios logo for DLC. Shoutout to United Plankton Pictures though.

Logo Stage:

Telegael Teoranta Stage

Telegael.jpg

Please excuse the bad quality but since BowserKing said the logo stage job here is for logos based on places/logos that take place in a place, I thought to go the more creative, obscure route with Telegael.

Telegael is an Irish animation company that has animated shows like Toddworld, Dive Olly Dive!, Speed Racer: The Next Generation, etc. The fighters are simply in a dimly lit room with the Telegael logo behind them. There are only walk-off blastzones and no platforms. Occasionally, the Telegael microphone will bounce around as it does in the logo causing damage to the fighters and will tilt its head up. Sometimes, on the Telegael TV, you can see clips of various shows Telegael has produced.

I feel we should do a job making home stages for Leo, Torch Lady, Tristar Pegasus, and Luxo Jr. soon.

Stage: Blumhouse (Blumhouse Productions)

Producers of The Purge, Paranormal Activity, and the upcoming FNaF movie, this small-budget horror studio has an opening sequence ripe with potential for a stage. It would take place inside the house itself (ala Luigi's Mansion), and feature hazards based on things like the floating chairs seen in the sequence. Some of Blumhouse's original characters could possibly make cameos peering through the windows (also maybe Freddy too? Please?)

South Park: 1
DIC: 1
Frederator: 7
United Plankton Pictures: 8
Splaat: 13

Splaat from Klasky Csupo is are 5th newcomer

On a related note, while the Logo stage is still available, I have a question.

Should the moveset be a team up effort, or should one person make a full moveset?
