Hesitant as I am to use wordings such as those, I do agree that the complaints about those particular aspects have gone overboard.

Samus is absolutely fine. Maybe give her F-Smash and U-Smash pseudo-projectiles on her cannon, but stop right there.
Sonic, as I said on the Unpopular Opinions thread, only suffers from a hit-and-run, keepaway-heavy gamefeel, and that's a modern Smash-wide problem instead of a Sonic problem.
But as much as I love punching Ganondorf and dislike how his canon self is definitively a sword wielder, I can concede that he's drifted far away enough from his Smash incarnation that a revamp is an... acceptable decision.
