VR is also an expensive format with a closed off player base i can't see Nintendo_ who are all about family and mass appeal, making it the main crux of the next platform. A side thing? Maybe.

I'm gonna keep saying It: Switcher∞ would be an hilarious and banger name for the new console.

Tangentially related - I've seen a lot of people in discussion of Nintendo's next console mention that they feel backwards compatibility is absolutely necessary, and whilst I'm inclined to agree... that would be a completely illogical decision on their part, considering how much money they've made this generation from reselling Wii U games at full price on a new console.

To be clear, I don't think they should resell Switch games to consumers at $60 with incredibly minor changes. But I find it difficult to believe they'd pass the opportunity up.

I could see them going for a new name just to prevent a repeat of what happened with the Wii U (even if the gamepad being so prominently featured in marketing as opposed to the console itself is probably just as much to blame for the misinterpretation as the name)

While the Focus leak is blatantly fake (the Mii Maker font and lack of placeholder games alone prove that), I think that's probably the sort of name they'd go with - loosely connected to "Switch" as either another verb or something else that begins with S(w).

I don't think a another name is impossible, but with everything we've been hearing it sounds like this is gonna be more like an updated switch than anything so I could see them keeping it
