Funnily enough Orcane from Rivals of Aether is right up there, despite originating from a platform fighter himself. Shovel Knight's also got quite a few under his belt, but... it's Shovel Knight, he's in everything lol.

Kumazaki has been great in his role, but what makes Sakurai, well, Sakurai is his insane knowledge and understanding of all of these characters and franchises that he's given to work with. That's something that would need to be heavily considered; you can't just hand the position off to anyone...

I think it's important to make the distinction that there's no Cartoon Cartoon era characters in the game yet. All of the CN originals in the game so far come from the 2010's era.

To be fair to Tropical Freeze, it was released on the Wii U during one of its driest periods, which meant it just wasn't going to do all that great in the environment it was placed in. The Switch version seems like it did pretty decently all things considered.

I mean, the timing didn't help Black Adam's perception all that much but hey, at least the movie ended up being good and it all worked out in the end. ... ....... oh.

Well, if it means anything, it was announced earlier today that they're expanding the franchise in new ways, including through games. So, whatever legal issues may have plagued the series seems to have subsided. The timing is also... interesting.

Johnny getting in would be hilarious to me because then we'd have three different Johnny's across three different modern fighting games that all wear sunglasses and I just think that's fantastic

Jasper would be an interesting choice. Could certainly make for a fun moveset, but at the same time I don't know why she'd get in over other SU characters.

In any other game it would be pretty simple to figure out who slots into where in an alphabetical CSS. But considering, well, the vast amount of IP's WB has access to... yeah, I've got no ****ing clue lmao. It's gonna be real weird if the PPG's aren't in the launch roster is all I'll say.

Fun fact! The chainsaw is actually considered the worst weapon in classic Doom. It's completely invalidated by the Berserk pack, which... lets you punch things to death. In fact, you can punch some things so hard they literally explode. So yeah. It can't be expressed just how much the series...

I mean, don't forget that Sakurai more or less confirmed in that same exact presentation that Kazuya was getting his ass kicked during playtesting, and they pretty much had to give him intangibility on like 95% of his moveset just for him to keep up. Which is hilarious considering...

I am curious if they'd be willing to include his Doom 64 design as well. It is a bit different from the classic marine suit, plus there's the obvious Nintendo connection.
